Terratribes Charity

From the moment Terratribes was founded, we decided to commit a portion of all revenues to charitable action to give back to the local community. This means that 2% of our revenue go to charitable action.

This is implemented through a separate side of Terratribes called Terratribes Charity. As natives of Sichuan and Guangxi, the founders of Terratribes are all too aware of the socio-economic and environmental challenges that China during its economic resurgence. At least half of our projects and financial contributions go to support local youth, with at least 50% having a focus on sustainable relief of poverty and environmental protection.

Giving back to our local communities and the communities in which we operate our programs is also an enduring focus of our regular operations, be it through service projects with school groups or the way we encourage tourists to interact with local people.

We have also committed ourselves to developing more community service opportunities either as a trip focus or component of a multi-focused trip for our International School clients. The first two areas where we are developing programs are in Northwestern Guangxi province and Sichuan. These two areas both have stunning and threatened natural environments and challenging economic situations: for Guangxi being rural poverty and for Sichuan being the rebuilding of communities following the tragic earthquake of 2008.
