Xinjiang
Situated in the North West of China, this predominantly Muslim province provides visitors with a unique cultural experience rarely seen in China. Spanning over 1.6 million sq km the province borders Mongolia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and India. The region is home to a number of different ethnic groups including the Uyghur, Han, Kazakh, Hui, Kyrgyz and Mongol. Xinjiang is an excellent location for school groups and our tours here can encompass many different elements.
Types of Xinjiang School Programs
Adventure Programs: From treking to Bogda Mt Base Camp, meeting and learning from professional mountaineers, to experiencing multi day wilderness expeditions in the desert. The varied landscape and environments of the region provides a perfect location for adventure programs.
Educational Programs: China's Muslim North West and the Mongolia Silk Road provides a fascinating region for educational focussed study trips and can be tailored to highlight the regions culture, environment and historical importance.
The Mix: combine service with adventure and culture, spend a few days traveling the Silk Road before embarking on a wilderness camp and hike, then finish with archaeological site seeing and a Tibetan school service visit. Tell us what you want, and we'll make it happen.
