Local Knowledge
Terratribes is owned and operated by local Southwestern Chinese people – a member of the Zhuang minority from Guangxi, and a Han-Tibetan from Sichuan. Many of our guides are bilingual and we operate with experienced international and local staff, all trained and certified to the highest industry standards.

Safety    
We are the only outdoor company in China whose team includes Wilderness Medical Associates, China Mountaineering Development Institute and Leave No Trace instructors. All guides have first aid training, carry a fully stocked first aid kit, are qualified and have a depth of experience in the activities they instruct, and have a wealth of experience operating in a variety of environments with diverse clientele. Naturally, all equipment we use is to internationally certified standards.

Working with international tour providers, high level international schools, China based multinationals, TV production companies and universities, we have organized hundreds of school trips, corporate events and family adventures. We have worked on programs throughout China and overseas, including the 2008 Beijing Summer and 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games.

In both our operational style and through allocation of 2% of our revenues we promote environmentally sustainable tourism, regional projects to improve socio-economic conditions and opportunities for local youth. Our staff team has years of experience working in the non-profit industry, including wilderness therapy for at-risk youth and youth activism events.
