Each of us in the Terratribes Family stands behind a set of core values that are represented in our company name. From daily operations to trip logistics, we adhere to these values, which are integral to everything we do:

Teamwork
Learning how to be a part of a team is something that extends to all facets of life. In any outdoor experience, effective teamwork is essential, which makes the outdoors a unique and positive venue for people to practice, experiment, and learn about their role in a group. Leadership and team scenarios in the outdoors often produce surprising results for both participants and observers. By stripping away the distractions of daily life, these experiences offer an incredible opportunity for self-discovery. We put this value into practice by designing and facilitating creative and fun team building workshops that set the tone for an entire trip and translate into daily life.
 
Environment
As outdoor enthusiasts, we experience first-hand the impacts (both positive and negative) that vistors can have on the natural environment. It is our goal to foster an appreciation of nature and raise awareness of the environmental issues facing China and the world. We make a point to educate our clients in these issues, as well as promote positive environmental ethics. We work to isolate and reduce environmental impacts on all our trips. In striving to help with these important issues, we partner with the Leave No Trace Center For Outdoor Ethics. We also design lessons and ongoing service projects that promote positive environmental stewardship in the areas we visit.
 
Respect
Respect is an integral part of life. At Terratribes, we have the opportunity to encounter all sorts of cultures, experiences, landscapes, and wildlife. Respecting these things means we take the time to learn about them and how best to coexist. We have experienced that gaining a deeper knowledge of these things naturally leads to a growing respect and appreciation. We know that the outdoor adventures we provide are most complete and authentic when paired with adequate outdoor education and cultural awareness. We also highly value respect of each other. On an outdoor adventure, it is important to respect the ideas and differences we all have. Respect and tolerance for each other creates a positive and fun outdoor experience, stronger relationships, and tight-knit groups.
 
Responsibility
As outdoor professionals, we are responsible for maintaining a high level of safety, professionalism, and proper outdoor ethics. It is important to us that our clients know and see that we take this responsibility for safety and professionalism in the outdoors very seriously. We feel that it’s important to help instill a sense of safety and personal responsibility in others. We strive to teach our clients the best and most appropriate way to conduct themselves in the outdoors and in rural communities, to enable them to take these skills with them on their future adventures.
 
Adventure
Adventure is what drives everything we do. It is the reason all of us in the Terratribes family choose to explore the outdoors, new cultures and new places. An adventure should be something that is fun and challenging that presents new opportunities you wouldn’t encounter elsewhere. Adventure is out of the ordinary. It is our passion to share the adventures we have had in China with others, and to help inspire others to become adventurers for themselves!
